In this class, you will learn the fundamentals of research methods in the social sciences, including data collection techniques and analysis. We will explore both qualitative and quantitative methods from an anthropological perspective.
By the end of the course, you will be able to:
- Identify and apply the fundamental concepts and methods of anthropology to understand global issues;
- Gather, interpret, and assess information from a variety of sources and points of view;
- Evaluate evidence and arguments critically or analytically;
- Produce well-reasoned written or oral arguments using evidence to support conclusions.
(Based on Pathways General Education Learning Outcomes)
What is our final goal? To create a portfolio of work that demonstrates your growth as a student of international issues, and your mastery of those methods that help us understand contemporary international issues.
